Biodynamic CRANI0SACRAL THERAPY
What is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy?
With its roots in osteopathy, its a safe, non - invasive gentle but powerful therapy, that uses light touch to reduce stress. It supports your body’s innate ability to balance, restore and heal itself.
Who is this suitable for?
People of all ages - and can be safely combined with conventional treatments.
It’s also highly effective for pregnancy and in the postpartum period for mothers and babies. A skilful and empathetic support during these times can be really helpful, not just for mothers and babies, but for partners and older children too.
Parents commonly bring their babies for craniosacral therapy if they are suffering from colic or other digestive problems, are unsettled or have problems sleeping.
Craniosacral therapy can also support mother and baby recover after a birth.
What issues does it help with?
It can help to support all types of issues, including: back and neck pain; digestive issues; headaches/migraines; insomnia; hormonal issues; menopause; autoimmune conditions and various stress related issues like anxiety and overwhelm, as well as depression. It has also shown to be effective in treating PTSD and ADD/ADHD. There is some evidence that it can help with symptoms of dementia.
But, something as simple as, having low energy and ‘not feeling yourself’ can be effectively treated with craniosacral therapy .
More recently, I have been treating clients with long Covid, finding that craniosacral therapy has helped clients regain their vitality as the nervous system can realign and the immune system regains its energy.
Craniosacral therapy is a perfect complement to talking therapies, physically processing emotional issues and trauma held in the body for a balance mind/body system.
I am increasingly working with teenagers who are feeling the benefits of craniosacral therapy in helping regulate their nervous system to reduce symptoms of overwhelm, anxiety and depression.
** Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.**
What does a session involve?
Craniosacral therapy is usually carried out with the client lying down (or sitting / standing if more comfortable), fully clothed and in a quiet and peaceful environment. You may feel pleasant sensations of warmth pulsations and deep relaxation. Sessions are client led, so your system will set the pace of work and you’ll remain comfortable, in control and relaxed.
How many sessions will I need?
Craniosacral therapy allows the process of change to take place by meeting your body at its own pace, so treatment may be quick or require several sessions – the number of sessions will vary from person to person.
Some people like to continue receiving treatment even after their symptoms have resolved for the maintenance of good health, finding that craniosacral therapy supports them in other areas of life.
I have regular supervision and keep my self updated, through regular workshops and training.
***Important medical advice***
Craniosacral Therapy is intended to complement, not replace, the relationship you have with your medical practitioner. If you have, or suspect you may have, a health problem please see your doctor.
TESTIMONIALS
‘It was wonderful to have time for me. I came away feeling relaxed, refreshed and thoughtful’ Jane W
'I have received a couple of treatments from Kate, and have been bowled over. Kate is so perceptive, that within seconds of the treatment starting the areas which need healing begin to shift/realign. In the last session this was my heart. Her healing is so gentle, yet so powerful and deep acting - and the effect is lasting. Thank you.’ Ulli
'"I have received cranial sacral therapy from Kate and each time they have sent me into a deep relaxation I thought was impossible to achieve. I don't find it easy to switch off and nap in the daytime, but Kate manages to neatly get me to a place where I'm suspended in a lovely near sleep. I decompress completely and afterwards feel very relaxed, very dreamy but not drowsy. I can't recommend the treatment highly enough," Suzy B
‘Just wanted to say a huge thank you for yesterday. WOW. I feel a sense of lightness today, plus I slept like a dog - you are an amazing healer.’ Natasha
Kate, I cannot thank you enough for my amazing treatments. I have felt really well since our session. I think the best way to describe it would be like an engine that has been oiled. My body feels like it is flowing really well, if that makes sense!’ Estelle
‘I feel so much better after the session. My cold is so much better too. You are magic.’ Martha N
“I had a continuous pain in my shoulder from constantly leaning over my computer, Kate gave me a cranial sacral therapy with fantastic results, the pain was gone. I am slightly weird as I don’t really like massages but Kate made me feel really at ease and relaxed throughout. It was a great experience all round”. Ruth P
I had never had Craniosacral therapy before, so was pleased when Kate took the time to explain what she was going to do. She then gently informed me of each change of position before she made it. I felt very safe and supported in her hands. Especially when she held my sacrum and I felt all kinds of things shift and twitch in my body. Kate gently explained that this was what my body was ready to do. I came away feeling lighter and happy, without really knowing how, but I'll take it!
In essence, she is an expert facilitator and therapist, with a gentle, warm and kind approach. I really appreciated this. Anna Haig
Kate’s Craniosacral therapy was incredible! She was so thorough with looking at the whole picture of my life as background to what I needed. She has a magical healing touch, and I was able to release a lot of tension from body, from the emotional energy of grief to the physical damage from my injuries, I left feeling like I had released a lot from my system. I will be back for more for sure! Emily Tucker
